The House of Ployez-Jacquemart unveils its first "cuvée parcellaire": Champagne AB390.
This Champagne comes from a single, perfectly exposed parcel of vines located on our estate in Ludes.
This new cuvée is a single grape-varietal 2016 vintage Champagne made from 100% Meunier, the most Champagne-like of all grape varieties.
"Linked to our winemaking, we practice a traditional approach by separating the juices to produce excellent parcel wines."
Maison Ployez-Jacquemart presents a brand new collection of wines : a single-vineyard still wine : AB390. To continue your journey through the Champagne region, we're offering you a Coteau Champenois, a non-sparkling wine, which expresses all the expertise and experience of the House.
It comes from the same plot of vines as the Champagne Vintage 2016, but we have chosen to make it from a different vintage, that of 2018.
“Following a meeting with a winegrower friend who was already working with Meuniers, the desire was born to extract the best from our plots of Meunierto make a unique and creative wine that will make the House of Ployez-Jacquemart shine.”
This plot, isolated from the rest of our vineyard, has a special and unique character. The name of these prestigious wines was therefore an obvious choice! We wanted to honour our terroir, particularly this parcel : AB 390 and the grape variety that grows here. The name was chosen to be legible in all the languages of the world, like the reputation of our Champagne House, and to correspond to the cadastral registration of the parcel of vines.
2016 : An impressive production considering the poor weather conditions of the year.
2018 : Early, highquality, highquantity : the Champagne harvest was truly exceptional. Thanks to the exceptional weather that year, the vines developed rapidly ; flowering and then ripening benefited from ideal conditions and, at harvest time, the bunches were plentiful, in perfect health, with sugar and aromatic richness well above average.
Meunier, the dominant black grape variety of the Montagne de Reims, is very present in the Champagne region, accounting for a third of the vineyards, or 11,000 hectares, which puts this grape variety in an unrivalled position.
This grape variety is resistant to winter frosts and thrives in damp, clayey soils, so it's a pleasure to work with.
The House is very familiar with this grape variety, which makes up the majority of its total vineyard area, and uses it extensively in its blends.
